New York State Police say they responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident on I-95 in the town of Mamaroneck on Saturday, April 27 around 2:15 a.m.
Further investigation revealed that the car’s operator, identified as 31-year-old Laura Cloherty of Eastchester, was intoxicated and drove the vehicle into a concrete barrier, police say.
Cloherty was evaluated for injuries by on-scene EMS before she was arrested, transported and processed at SP New Rochelle.
Police say Cloherty’s blood alcohol level was determined to be .18. Cloherty was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and vehicle and traffic violations.
Cloherty was ticketed and released to a sober third party. She is scheduled to appear at the Town of Mamaroneck Court on Monday, May 6.
